Brake pedal pulsates under braking

You feel pulsing through the pedal when slowing from speed, even with light pressure.

On the R107 with floating calipers and vented front rotors, pulsation is almost always rotor warpage from heat. Rear pulsation is rare.

What the diagnosis checks

  1. Pulsation only under hard braking from speed (>50 mph)?
  2. Pedal also pulses at low-speed gentle braking?

Possible causes it points to

  • Warped front rotors
  • Rear brake drum out of round
  • Wheel bearing or hub runout
