Brake pedal soft / goes to the floor
Pedal feels spongy or sinks to the floor with steady pressure.
Soft pedal = air in the system, internal master cylinder bypass, or a leaking caliper. Sinking pedal under steady pressure with no external leak = master cylinder.
What the diagnosis checks
- Any visible fluid loss at any wheel or under the master cylinder?
- Pedal sinks slowly with steady foot pressure (engine running)?

- Caliper or wheel cylinder leak
- Master cylinder bypass
- Air in the system
